Personal data held

The data controller, Design Plus Health and Beauty Ltd, holds and processes personal data about you in connection with your application for employment. This may include the following:

Identifiers; For example, your address, and other contact details including emergency contact, date of birth, NI number, eligibility to work in the UK documents, photograph.

Historical data: For example, details provided on your CV or application form, interview notes, references.

Social data: Current data as declared on your CV or application form, for example, public duties, family, marital status, interests and hobbies, declared social or sports activities.

Special categories: As declared during the recruitment process including any health questionnaire prior to appointment (if applicable), for example: chronic illnesses, cardiovascular events, mental health, sickness absence records and certain protected characteristics under the Equality Act 2010.

Personal data is also held on HR and operational databases and some information will be held in the files of interviewers and others directly involved in recruitment.

The purpose of processing special category data may be to make reasonable adjustments in the recruitment process and on appointment, if applicable, and to comply with health and safety legislation.

Purposes for processing personal data

Design Plus needs to collect and use personal data about applicants to make informed decisions about selection and appointment,  and to comply with legal obligations.

Security of personal data

Design Plus  will take all reasonable steps to ensure that the personal data it holds is accurate and up-to-date. On appointment, if applicable, personal data will be subject to the privacy statement  in our Employee Handbook. All  personal data will be destroyed after six months.

Sharing of personal data

Design Plus may make personal data available to HR consultants, providers of psychometric tests, lawyers,  and others providing services under outsourcing services, and to government and/or regulatory authorities.

Automated decision making

In the event that automated decision making is used in the selection process you will be informed of such at the time.

Keeping us updated

In order to assist us in ensuring that your personal information is kept up to date, you should inform the HR Manager of any changes in the following information that may occur during the recruitment process:

• Address and other contact details
• Emergency contact details
• Change of name
